Tesla has said it is planning to roll out an Uber-style ride-share and hailing service next year, to coincide with the launch of its new self-driving Model S range of car. It means that a Tesla owner will probably be able to make money out of his car by registering it for self-driving car hailing services. However,

"using a self-driving Tesla for car sharing and ride hailing for friends and family is fine, but doing so for revenue purposes will only be permissible on the Tesla Network," said the company in a disclaimer.
